Proper maintenance of your salt cell will allow for a longer life and better chlorine production. All salt cells should be cleaned and inspected every three months.

A salt cell cleaning consists of the following:

  • Check salt system diagnostics pre-cleaning
  • Remove and inspect cell pre-cleaning
  • Clean cell in acidic solution
  • Independently test the pools current salt level
  • Rinse and reinspect the cell post-cleaning
  • Reinstall cell
  • Check system diagnostics post-cleaning
  • Verify salt levels between diagnostics and independent tests

Please note: Salt cells should be replaced every 5 years. Cells which have not been properly maintained will need to be replaced more often
